Let me paint you a picture of this world that I see,

A black and white painting of the powers that be,

Just a small dab of orange and a small dab of green

But splattered red by the dead that we see on TV.

It’s not a scene or an act; it’s a full blown attack,

When nuclear countries join suicide pacts.

Yet we react like it’s nothing, everything seems just fine,

So we go on with our lives never to be refined.

Where’s the light that we need to help us out of this mess?

That little speck of light that keeps us out of distress?

Where’s that hope that we call for when we fall to our knees?

While praying to the sky and taking in all the breeze,

While we look past pollutants that our eyes cannot see,

And we breathe in the pestilence and pulmonary disease.

This ain’t a dream or a nightmare, though you wish it could be.

This is a fucked up world called “reality.”
